Written by guest Isabella Anderson Cape Equestrian is a small business offering unique apparel for the avid equestrian. Cape Equestrian is inspired by both Cape Cod and the equestrian lifestyle, and the combination has teamed together to create an amazing brand with fabulous apparel. The clothing has a nautical yet classic feel and is made of fine material to offer only the best quality. The material is soft and comfortable to wear and looks amazing with any pair of breeches. It's the perfect addition to your #rootd! The Cape Equestrian Ladies Short Sleeve V-Neck is my personal favorite. The material in this is soft and the shirt is fitted nicely to a girls body to ensure maximum comfort while riding and a classic equestrian look. The shade of red looks great with tan, navy, and white breeches especially, and can definitely look great with a burgundy pant when accented with a coordinating belt. The design on the back resembles a weathered pennant flag shape and texture and it offers such a nautical vibe that goes so well with equestrian outfits. I love wearing my Cape Equestrian Short Sleeve with navy breeches and a black and red bit belt from Mango Bay Designs, it's one of my favorite outfits! However, this shirt has proven to look good with several belts and on several pants! In addition to wearing this shirt while riding and days spent at the barn, you can also rock it shopping and at school to channel your inner equestrian fashionista! Another product I loved was the youth Long Sleeve Shirt. Similar to the previous shirt, both come with a Cape Equestrian logo on the front! This shirt comes in a bright pink with long sleeves and can act as both a long sleeve shirt on colder days and as a thin layer to provide more warmth. The sleeves are not tight around your upper arms, however the style works well with the tight aspect of breeches! The style is casual and fun for schooling rides and to brighten up your hack/lesson! The back of the shirt has an adorable pony in the center with two small Cape Equestrian logos on both sides. Also, it has the adorable phrase "Pony Up"! This long sleeve can be worn with leggings to go to school or with breeches to ride. For some, wearing it is a throwback to the pony days, which many find great! To conclude, Cape Equestrian provides beautiful and nautical vibes to your ever day rides and schooling at shows. Bringing some Cape Cod style to the barm seems to work so nicely together and the preppy aspect can be appreciated by many. Cape Equestrian also sells hats, clutches, men's apparel, and sweaters for different occasions. Be sure to check them out at www.capeequestrian.com! These make a great late-Christmas present with money from the holidays!

Written by guest Isabella Anderson Soless Visors is a company dedicated to offering the highest quality sun visors with characteristics that separate these visors from your typical sun visors. Soless Visors are made of a special material that is transparent and 92% UV resistant. The transparency allows for the rider to see from all angles and to not have any "blind spots" while riding. The wide brim also allows for maximum sun protection for the riders face and sides of their neck. In addition, Soless Visors have strategically placed and designed clips titled "No More Fly Away" clips. These clips attach to the rim of your helmet and the visor to ensure that no gust of wind or jump causes your visor to fly away, as many visors seem to do. Soless visors come in three different styles; the Soless Classic, Velcro, and Gold. These visors are all transparent with UV protection equal to each other, and they all come with clips. The first visor I wore was the Soless Classic. As soon as I put it on my helmet, I could see the difference as opposed to other brands of visors on the market. The transparency and tint in the visor material allows for the ultimate sun protection and views from every angle. The visor filters out 92% of the UV rays from the sun and still allow me to see from every direction. This visor has a lattice material over the visor, which adds a little bit of texture for looks and does not effect vision at all. I love the classy and elegant look of the visor while on either of my helmets. The clips are very easy to place on the brim of your helmet to the visor, which is always great. Also, the way in which the visor can be adjusted to any size helmet is through a small gold clip engraved with a horse head silhouette in the back, and keeps the visor firmly on the helmet. The next visor I tried was their Soless Velcro in Navy. While neither of my helmets are navy, this visor looked especially classy on my GPA Speed Air. This visor is very different form the Classic, yet just as effective and aesthetically pleasing. It also has two different uses, as it can be worn with or without a helmet. This visor material is completely smooth without the lattice material on the top. The material has a similar concept to one way glass in a way, where the top mirrors the outside surroundings and the inside is clear and can be seen through, same as the Soless Classic. The "glass likeness" of the visors is due to the nature of its polycarbonate film, which is the material between the UV protection. This visor adjusts to helmet sizes in the back through Velcro rather than the clip. Again, this visor is used with a clip to ensure it does not fall off while riding or fly away. This is the only model of Soless Visors that comes in a color other than black, so if you have a matte black helmet or a navy helmet this is the perfect visor. It also comes in black. Third, and probably my favorite visor, is the Soless Gold. This visor is identical in looks and texture to the Soless Classic, however it has thin metallic gold piping around the edge that offers a bit of sparkle. In addition, there is a subtle amount of sparkle on the visor itself. This sparkle does not interfere with your vision, so if you're like me and love a little extra sparkle, this is the visor for you! I love this visor when it is on my Samshield in particular because it matches the Swarovski crystals and shimmer top. To conclude, Soless Visors is the leading company offering the highest qualify visors for the equestrian community. In summer heat and in hot climates such as here in South Florida, Soless Visors are the ideal choice. They never fly away and they never fail to attract compliments! To purchase, stop by your local luxury tack stores or go to http://www.soless.net to order online. In addition, they are having three giveaway opportunities to win a Soless visor! After having some pretty amazing lessons, I somehow managed to convince my mom I was ready to show in Ocala. I was so excited, I had always wanted to gallop around the track, something I would be able to accomplish. I arrived on Thursday, after my trainer had shown Sherlock, and he was overall perfect. I got on and walked him around the show grounds and went around the track. When I got there Friday, it was a little bit of a time crunch considering so many people had scratched due to rain. I got to the ring and Sherlock was all tacked up and ready at the ring. We warmed up and went in the ring. Our first trip in the .80 jumpers went really well, he listened, was balanced, and was jumping great. I was excited to go into the .90's soon after. All the jumps were great, until we reached the last one, I let him go and we took of super long. That wasn't exactly the best decision on my part. I was overall happy with my rounds and was ready for Saturday. I got there on time Saturday morning. It was freezing and I couldn't feel my hands. My warm up wasn't so great, but I thought inside the ring would go better. Unfortunately, I thought wrong. We either chipped to everything, or took off long. No perfect distance was happening. I was angry at myself for riding so poorly. I had a lesson later that day, which went incredibly well. Feeling better I was much more confident in showing the next day. Once again, our warm up wasn't to lovely. I wasn't ready to go in the ring, but I did anyways. I ended up having a great round. He listened, was balanced, was forward but not to fast, and not dragging along. It was a power and speed class, where unfortunately due to a big turn I made was buzzed out of the speed portion by just under a second. Other than that, my round was great. I ended up fourth and was so proud of everything we had accomplished in the short time we had been a team. I am so thankful for my trainer, family, and most of all my amazing teammate. Clip Clop Co. is an equestrian apparel company founded by a young avid equestrian. They sell everything from t-shirts to tank tops to even stickers. What makes Clip Clop Co. very unique among the other hundreds of equestrian apparel companies is that each shirt is a bit different! Their t-shirts and tank tops come in a variety of adorable colors and prints on the shirts. These prints include a text message icon with sayings such as "Equestrian" or "Cowgirl" inside of the texts, ending with either an emoji of someone in an English helmet or in a cowboy hat. These shirts are extremely unique, and stand out in a crowd without being distracting or too bright! They are also super flattering and adorable, another aspect of how unique Clip Clop Co. is! I received the very cute "Equestrian" tee in blue, and absolutely love it! These shirts run less than twenty dollars, which is pretty reasonable considering the cost of other equestrian apparel. I have already found so much use for this shirt, in my less than a week of having it! I have been wearing it around town and to ride in. Personally, I recommend downsizing one size with these shirts if you are looking for a tighter, slimmer fit! For example, if you are usually a size Medium with room to spare, size down to a Small for a slimmer fit. These shirts are truly great in all aspects. The fabric is super lightweight and breathable, making it perfect for those hot Summer(or Winter in Florida) days! These tees are the perfect length to easily tuck into your breeches. The fabric is also super soft and comfortable. Regarding washing it and removing stains, I had absolutely no problems! The daily doses of dirt from the barn easily wash out, and it does not shrink in the wash. The shirt shipped very quickly, and I definitely recommend placing an order from Clip Clop Co.- they make perfect holiday gifts for friends at the barn(or yourself!!). They answer their emails quickly and are super nice when it comes to answering questions! Written by guest Isabella Anderson
Stirrups Clothing is a designer of preppy and stylish equestrian inspired clothing. They sell totes, sweat pants, shirts, and much more. With a variety of items on their Equestrian Prep and Turnip Truck line, there's truly something for everyone. Tee shirts from Stirrups Clothing are perfect for the summer heat and year round in southern Florida, and their hoodies as well as pullovers are ideal for the winter. Even products such as totes can be worn out to represent your equestrian passion and style! They are sold in over a thousand retailers throughout the United States and Canada. I received both a hoodie and tee shirt from Stirrups and was obsessed with the designs. However I did notice that the sizing ran large, so I would recommend downsizing when ordering or go to youth sizes. The Equestrian Sports- English tee I received came in pink and had an adorable Equestrian Prep Collection logo featuring a horse and a bow tie. This shirt material is perfect for hot climates and looks great! The pink is not too bright to be "distracting"; but the perfect shade. The back of the shirt has a beautiful and preppy design "inspired by the equestrian lifestyle." This shirt is great for riding and wearing out of the barn as well! The next item I received was the ash grey jumper hoodie from their Adult hoodie line. This hoodie also ran large but was great in the oversize aspect because of the warmth it provides on colder days. This hoodie can be worn around the barn and at home to ensure you are never cold! The inside material is very comfortable, and so is the outside material. The jumper design on the front is gorgeous and has been the source of many compliments! Third, I got two Koozies! One matched my shirt which I was thrilled about! The second one says "Everyday is barnday", a relatable quote to all equestrians. These keep cold drinks cold and warm drinks warm. I use these in my room and around the house all the time to keep drinks cool. Also, with cold drinks they prevent condensation for ruining surfaces such as wood! I recommend Stirrups Clothing to all equestrians- especially the preppy ones! Their clothing can be work by western riders, as well as equitation, Hunter, and jumper riders alike. From riding shirts to stylish hoodies and pullovers, you can represent your equestrian passion everywhere you go. In addition, totes and drawstring bags are perfect for going out to the beach, shopping, and running any errands. Not to mention bringing items to and from the barn! Be sure to check out http://www.stirrupsclothing.com and order your equestrian prep fix today! The new Stirrups Clothing Spring/Summer collection will be available at the beginning of February. I recently went to the horse show at Hidden River Farm in Tewksbury, New Jersey. It's on December 13th and it's so much fun. I showed in the greens so I had to wake up really early, but it was definitely worth it. I love Hidden River because of how much fun it is. They have a really nice lounge with a warm fireplace and magazines to look at when you're not showing. They have a big viewing area so you can stay nice and warm while watching your friends. It's a small show, but it's still tons of fun. It was so fun to see my pony so nice and braided! Everything about the show is great, the company, the facility, and even the food. I loved seeing all my horse show friends again and I was so proud of how well my pony did! I can't wait to go back next year! Written by guest Pearl Bensimoun
If you are looking for any bling equine accessory such as bridle charms, show earrings, embellished spur straps, and so much more, Bridle Bling is the perfect place to purchase these from! They sell almost every type of accessory you could possibly think of, even saddle pads and browbands. Bridle Bling is a small fashion-forward business based out of Arizona that sells one of a kind accessories! I received the "Grandeur Rhinestone Bridle Charm", the "Pearl Initial Bridle Charm", the "Isabell Leather Bracelet in Chocolate", and the "Reed Rhinestone Half Moon Earrings." I am definitely pleased with how gorgeous and unique each and every product from Bridle Bling looks. I have never been as impressed with the appearance of any equine jewelry or accessories before! The "Isabell Leather Bracelet" is a rich chocolate color with an adorable rhinestone clasp. I have more of a smaller wrist and it is usually hard to find bracelets that are a good fit, however this bracelet was a perfect fit! It is super comfortable and easy to ride in. I have already received numerous compliments just in the few times that I have worn it! It is almost completely distraction-free and does not bounce up and down like many bracelets, making it perfect to wear during a ride or around town. One thing that I truly love about this bracelet is that it is subtle, yet blingy. The "Pearl Initial Bridle Charm" is surely a necessity for anyone that would like a little bit of subtle bling on their bridle, zipper bull, key chains, or any other type of accessory! One problem that I have had with bridle charms in the past is them being too distracting for my pony, and often spooking her. I have yet to have any problems at all with this bridle charm. It is not distracting at all, and stays in place, even while cantering and jumping. The "P" initial for my name on it added a personalized touch that I loved! It did get a little bit of dirt on it after I rode with it, but it was super easy to clean off. The other bridle charm that I received from Bridle Bling is the "Granduer Rhinestone Bridle Charm". I have almost the same thing to say about this charm as the "Pearl Initial Charm",,, I love it! It was very distraction limited, easy to clean, and just a great touch to your bridle. It also looks very flattering against darker leather bridles. I also received a pair of earrings called the "Reed Rhinestone Half Moon Earrings" that I adore! I have only worn them a few times, but have received loads of compliments and can already tell I am going to get quite a bit of use out of them. I have ridden this earrings once when I was riding and did not have any problems with them, they stayed in place throughout the whole ride. Overall, I am very pleased with the bracelets and bridle charms from Bridle Bling! They are amazing quality, and the customer service is great due to the fact that they respond very quickly to any questions you may have. Unlike many other companies, Bridle Bling has an extremely quick turnaround with orders. They ship within 24 hours of placing your order, being that some companies take up to one week or even longer! Check out Bridle Bling's website here and place an order in time for Christmas! Also check them out on social media, their Instagram is @bridlebling. Written by guest Isabella Anderson
Black Knight Equestrian is an equestrian-inspired company dedicated to offering luggage and luxury leather goods for both the equestrian and non equestrian alike. They sell everything from leather wallets to complete tack trunks. Each and every one of their products is made of high quality materials to ensure beauty and durability for everyday life, barn days, and showing. First I received a Riders Wristlet in Chocolate Brown and it has become my go-to wristlet for shopping and keeping important items such as my phone and money at the barn. The leather is soft and buttery and is a perfect material that lasts and looks amazing. The zippers are smooth and do not snag, and the logo on both sides looks beautiful. On one side, there is a gold leather piece that is pressed with "Black Knight" and it's unique logo. On the other side, there is a smaller logo pendant. In addition, the small strap can be used to make this a classic wristlet, and detaching the strap makes for an adorable wallet. It's perfect for small items and can be used everywhere to represent your equestrian spirit! Next, I received Black Knights classic Show Clutch. This clutch is imperative for show days! It holds notebooks and paper, such as class lists and results. It's a stylish clutch that comes in many different varieties. My Show Clutch came in chocolate brown and has been to many shows with me in the short amount of time I have had it, and I will continue to bring it to many more to come! This clutch has been the source of many compliments given to me at shows, all admiring the usefulness and beauty of it around the show grounds! Both my Riders Wristlet and Show Clutch have been with me to many shows and shopping as well. They show no signs of wear and look brand new, you wouldn't be able to tell how many shows they have attended and not so desirable weather! Recently here in Wellington there has been pouring rain and my Black Knight products have gone against the rain and still look brand new. Be sure to stop by Black Knight Accessories for your next wallet, wristlet, clutch and more! Written by guest Pearl Bensimoun Dog and Pony Show is a Canadian company that sells almost anything you would want for the two best types of four legged friends...horses and dogs! Their horse products range from adorable socks to bracelets, halters, and even Custom bonnets! As for Fido, they sell super cute pillows and dog accessories and Collars. There are also a lot of customizable items on the website so you can get something that will be uniquely yours! I received three amazing products from Dog and Pony Show. These products included two pairs of boot socks and a logo hat. I received the "Andalusian Boot Socks", as well as the "Labrador Retriever Boot Socks." I am truly pleased with the phenomenal quality of both pairs. I personally only buy and wear thin tall boot socks for a more comfortable fit, so when I saw that these were on the thinner side I was very happy! The thickness of the sock is just right, not being too thin and easily tearable, but also not being too thick and hot to ride in. The boot socks from Dog and Pony Show are super lightweight, thin, and breathable, making them absolutely perfect for those hot Summer(or Winter in Florida) days! These socks are surprisingly very durable! I was not expecting them too be very durable since my other tall boot socks that aren't thick are not. Boy was I wrong! Upon wearing these socks, mud and water got all over them! The water dried in less than five to ten minutes, and the mud came off with just one wash. These socks are only a few dollars more than your average pair of tall boot socks, but are one hundred percent worth it. They run about fifteen Canadian dollars , which is not expensive considering I can already tell that these socks are going to last for a while. The next product that I received from Dog and Pony Show is their logo hat which I love! It's perfect to wear around the barn, or around town. I really enjoy how lightweight and breathable it is. It is also very easy to adjust with a Velcro strap on the back. The shipping took about five days from Canada which was extremely quick! The customer service is great. I would definitely commend buying anything from Dog and Pony Show, you won't be disappointed! The packaging was also super cute, and as their prices are in Canadian $, its like 20-25% off when you pay in US $, because of the exchange rate! Be sure to check out their website here, as well as their Instagram @dogandponyshowequestrian, and their Facebook page here! Written by guest
This past weekend I went to the LA Season Finals located at the LA Equestrian Center in Burbank, CA. I competed in the restricted division and the Legis Cornerstone 2’6 medal. Usually my goal for a medal finals is to get in the top ten, but this final was different… On the first day of the final I woke up at 7:30 am and headed to the horse show with my mom. When I finally got there I went to my ring and looked at the course. After waiting around and walking the course I got on. Finally it was my turn to go into the ring. I went in with a very positive attitude knowing that if I tried my best I could do good. After my round I listened for my score with my trainer. Finally the announcer called out a 86. I couldn't believe what the announcer said. At the end of the day i ended up 1st against a good amount of riders. Finally the second day of the horse show came. I arrived at the same time doing everything I have done the day before. After getting on my horse I watched a few rounds and jumped over a few jumps with my trainer. Finally it was my turn to go. It was just an OK round, so I got an weak score an 68. Panic sets in knowing that three really good riders are still needing to do their second rounds. “I'm not going to be in the work off!” Finally after the last round everyone was waiting to see who was in the work off. Then the announcer called my number. I couldn't explain how happy I was to be in the work off, although I was sitting 4th in the work off. Then it was time for me to go in the ring. I headed to all the jumps with perfect distances and then to a trot fence. After my round I felt great. I felt that i did great for my first work off. After the top four did our work off the top 10 went into the ring all came back into the ring. I watched the awards being given out one after another. Then the forth place award went out, still not me. Finally I was called to get my third place award. I couldn't believe how well I did for my fourth medal final. One of the best parts of this medal was being able to do it with all of my friends. I can't wait for my medals next year |
